5 Habits of People with Flawless Skin

We've all been guilty of sleeping in our makeup. Ya know...that one time you came home lit AF and climbed into  bed, while inhaling

[insert your drunk food of choice]

Many of us forget to take care of the largest organ of our external body before we pass out, our skin. Whether your skin-care routine consists of nothing but Neutrogena makeup wipes or you've been a victim of waking up in last nights' makeup.

Facing yourself in last nights' makeup gives you a wake up call -- literally.

You start questioning life: Should I go outside and work the streets? Do people think I'm straight from the recovery center? Should I admit myself to a recovery center?

Chill babe...

You've come to the right place. This is the beauty hot line and we're here to answer your cry for help.

First, know that when starting a new skincare routine, it is important to be realistic. You aren't going to go from 0 to 100 in one night's sleep.

Unless your Beyonce.

You also shouldn't head to Sephora when you find a pimple on your face and buy absolutely any and everything that claims to cure/prevent breakouts. And yes, I've been a personal victim of the Sephora Haul. I totally blew $600 on the entire Murad Acne System. #FML

The key is to incorporate just a few products into your routine and find what works for you. I have taken the liberty to conduct a quick and easy skin-care routine along with my personal recommendations for you babes to follow.

It looked oh, so good last night. Replace your Neutrogena wipes with these 5 skin-care habits.

Cleansing balms do the trick to dissolve makeup and other impurities while replenishing your skin's moisture levels. It's not necessary to use water with a cleansing balm: simply massage it all over your face and neck and then wipe it off with a cotton ball or a hot, damp washcloth. Even if you feel like shit and the rest of your life is falling apart, at least you'll have smooth AF skin.

The Farmacy Green Clean is my go-to balm-to-oil cleanser and is KEY when taking off your makeup. It contains Moringa, which extracts the dirt, grime, & impurities without stripping the skin.  The formula contains sunflower and ginger oil and will remove even waterproof mascara, while hydrating your skin. Plus it smells like summer in a jar and looks like sorbet.

The way my skin feels after I use it. I have acne prone skin and when using this, my skin feels super tight, rejuvenated and not stripped. You know sometimes you feel like your skin has a trillion layers that have just flown off and you're super dry - eh, not good.

Dewy, plump

Personal Recommendation: great for babes with dry skin

Peels dissolve the upper layer of cells to trigger repair. Just remember if the acid is penetrating into your skin, you're going to feel something -- that's a good thing. It's best to do a Reveal Exfoliating Peel at night, I even apply a layer under my jawline. You don't want your skin to be sensitive to the free radicals/pollutants in the morning when you step outside after you've just exfoliated a layer off your skin -- figuratively speaking, not literally.

This remarkable multi-tasking exfoliating peel makes your complexion brighter & plump after just one use.

If you have an event or just need a skincare miracle -- look no further. You should only use a Chemical exfoliator at night. My reasoning for this, you don't want to take off a "layer" / dead skin in the AM before you're exposed to the sun.

Personal Recommendation: all skin types

This physical exfoliator not only smells amazing, but it is also infused with Jojoba beads, which is great for acne prone skin. Loaded with Alpha Hydroxy Acids & Citrus enzymes to help refine your skin naturally. AHAs dissolve the upper layer of cells to trigger repair *AHA is key if you have sensitive skin.

Serums are highly concentrated, lightweight moisturizers that penetrate deeper to deliver active ingredients into your skin. They give your skin a firmer, smoother texture, make pores appear smaller, and increase moisture levels.

I use 1-2 serums in the morning and at night before I moisturize. You know every babe in LA dropped their Moon Juice for a Daily Serum when they heard, "green juice". The Joanna Vargas Daily Serum is plant based, has a gel-like consistency, and helps keep skin clear and is a natural way of oxygenating the skin. Super rich in hyaluronic acid and  infused with Vitamins A, C, & E, which help the skin breathe. Plus it's rich in minerals that stimulate the lymphatic system.

Whether I am using a red light, gel eye mask or Jade Roller I believe in giving your skin a little TLC on a daily basis.

This Jade Roller is my best friend. Before a night out, I pop this baby in the freezer to get it extra cold overnight because I know that after having a few drinks, I'm going to wake up with a puffy face. It promotes circulation and drains excess fluids in my face. After washing my face in the morning, I pair it with a serum and then use the big side on my cheeks and along my jawline (gotta get that contour) and then the smaller side underneath my eyes in an outwards and upwards motion. I'm not kidding, you need to get your hands on one of these. It's just sooo relaxing.

LightStim for Aging

If you haven't jumped on the red light therapy train yet. Hop on babe! This is the FIRST FDA cleared red light therapy machine. This helps reduce any red spots, inflammation on your face. I LOVE to apply my serum, use the red light therapy device, and then my jade roller. Your life will be forever changed.

6. M O I S T U R I Z E R

I have acne prone skin and used to think that I couldn't handle a moisturizer. In reality, if you don't moisturize your face then the sebaceous glands work even harder to give your skin the moisture that it needs, causing you to break out. I use a matte moisturizer that's very light- weight during the day and an anti-aging , lightweight moisturizer at night. Don't forget to use on your neck too.

This moisturizer contains potent polypeptides, which helps stimulate collagen production and effectively improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and skin aging sign. It will leave your skin looking smooth, youthful, plumped and glowing. I massage 1.5 pumps onto my face, starting with my neck. I really focus on my neck at night. It's such a vital part of staying youthful. It's one of the first things I "check out" on a woman - to tell how old she is.

Personal Recommendation:

Dry skin- I recommend a heavier nightly moisturizer

 Oily skin- night use only
